BEYOND ZERO SUMMIT

To further complement Government’s efforts towards increasing access to quality maternal health services and bridge the gap in human resources for health in Kenya’s most remote and hard to reach areas, the Ministry of Health and Beyond Zero established a two-year scholarship program for Enrolled Community Health Nursing training in 2016.

The first cohort was funded by the World Bank with Kenya Medical Training College spearheading the training of 1,200 students selected from arid and semi-arid counties as well as vulnerable and marginalized groups. To date, 1,070 students have graduated with the majority working in primary healthcare facilities in their respective Counties.

In 2018, Swiss multinational healthcare company, Roche, funded the training of an additional 124 students.

We have curated this exhibition to showcase and celebrate some of these heroes and heroines who go above and beyond in providing primary healthcare services for our communities in hard to reach areas in Kenya.
